(Based on Richardson, L. jr.)
This refers to the hypothetical unnamed Basilica referred to by Plautus (Plaut. Cur. 359, 472). In line 472, the Choregus describes the Roman Forum moving from west to east. A basilica is listed after the Sacrum Cloacinae and so would have stood east of it. Livy 26.27.2-5 says there were no basilicas in 210 BCE, so it would have been constructed after that. It must have been constructed before the Tabernae Novae, since those would have separated it from the Forum, which is not the case in the Curculio.
